Lisa Spillane is the author of a Qigong book for children; "Six Healing Sounds with Lisa and Ted: Qigong for Children", which teaches young children how to transform negative feelings into positive ones by using simple breathing techniques that are based on ancient Chinese Qigong exercises. This is a wonderful book to help children learn about how they can use sound and breath to deal with some of their emotions. Here is a YouTube video with examples of the book and the sounds.
What a great way to help children learn some proven methods that can help deal with negative emotions and keep a person healthy. Pretty cool!
According to Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley, CA, apple cider vinegar has lots of healing benefits. It has been used for hundreds of years by traditional healers. It's acidic property assists your body in restoring proper pH levels and brings health and balance back to your digestive system.
Rich in potassium apple cider vinegar helps to prevent brittle teeth, hair loss and runny noses. The pectin (from the apples) helps to regulate blood pressure and Malic Acid gives apple cider vinegar the healing properties of being anti-viral, anti-bacterial & anti-fungal.
According to Jess Ainsough in her article "7 Reasons to Love Apple Cider Vinegar", it can help with the following:
This Qigong meditation can help harmonize the kidneys and the heart. If you have heart or kidney problems, or are consistently tired and exhausted, have insomnia, anxiety, and/or palpitations, this meditation can help. This meditation helps balance the coordination of "fire and water" in the body.
Energy vibrates and has different wavelengths. Sound, color, and body cells all vibrate. That is why different types of energy waves can be used to help diagnose or treat the body. Ultrasounds, x-rays, radiation, and lasers are common tools used in medicine for both diagnosis and treatment.
Qigong uses energy for assessment and treatments as well. The energy used in Qigong treatments may use sound, color, in addition to the move subtle energies we know as Qi (chee) or ilfe force energy.
Colors may be used to help tonify and help different organs and systems in the body. There are different colors and energy frequencies closely aligned to various organs.
Recently I have noticed that during some Qigong medical treatments, the colors I am using are becoming much more exact and precise to what the organ is needing. It is almost as if there is a control mechanism on the color wheel and the color is automatically becoming adjusted to what this patient needs at this time.
I find this process of not only using colors, but having it automatically be fine-tuned to the exact needs in the color spectrum rather fascinating. The results are sometimes rather astonishing, too.
One of the fascinating things about Qigong treatments, is how a person receiving the treatment can have some amazing experiences during their treatment. Many will have their senses triggered, such as feeling the energy move, hearing things, seeing colors, or even seeing images during their treatments.
One client came for a Qigong medical treatment to get help with shoulder pain. She was on heavy duty narcotics but was still in constant pain. She could barely move her shoulder.
During her Qigong treatment, I worked on purging the stagnant energy in her shoulder, and then refilling and nourishing all her organs. At the end of the treatment, she reported how during the treatment, she could "see and feel" a huge snake in her shoulder. The snake uncoiled and slithered out of her body as I worked on moving the energy in her shoulder. She reported how her pain left her body when the snake exited her body.
Of course, she did NOT have a snake in her shoulder, and we both knew this. The images she had was what often happens during a treatment; the Qi energy and its movements will sometimes communicate in a way to the recipient so she can interpret what is happening within.
For her, the image of a large firm snake in her shoulder being forced out of her body was a way she could understand the energy begin moved around within her. Essentially, the stagnant and stuck energy was now flowing freely and what had caused her shoulder pain was now gone. The image she had of this event had become a way for her to understand and accept the change that has just happened.
Continual stress and anxiety stagnates the flow of your Qi (chee) in your body and when that happens, it will also impact the flow of your blood. Over time, this stagnation of Qi and blood will cause health problems for you. The organ most affected with continual stress and anxiety is your heart.
If you want to maintain your health and keep a healthy heart, it is important to learn how to deal with anxiety. If you have a lot of frustration and anxiety in your life, you will eventually develop cardiac problems.
But you have the power to reduce stress that may be making you ill. There are methods and tools you can use to be in charge of your cardiac fate. Most of us may not be able to remove ourselves completely from the major stressors in our life (we usually need money so need to keep our jobs and it's still impolite to get rid of our children). This means you need to develop new coping strategies and methods to reduce your stress AND keep your Qi and blood flowing smoothly in your body. If you want to be healthy or stay healthy, you MUST develop ways to relieve stress and anxiety in your life.
Here are some stress and anxiety relief tools you can try to see which are the most effective for you:
If you are experiencing cardiac problems and symptoms, you should not only incorporate SEVERAL of the stress reducing methods (listed above) in your life, you should also get regular (such as weekly or every-other week) Qigong medical treatments with a certified Qigong Medical therapist. If your cardiac problems are starting to resolve, then I would suggest Qigong medical treatments about every 3 or 4 weeks.
Stress and anxiety can be dangerous. Cardiac problems will eventually present themselves in your life unless you learn to manage and deal with these stressors and emotions in your life.
You are in charge of your life and your health. You can get control of anxiety and stress. You can improve your heart's health. You can make different choices.
Emotions can have such a dramatic effect on the flow of Qi (chee) in our bodies. For example, if you are depressed or worried, this can stagnate the flow of Qi within your body. If the Qi gets blocked and stagnant, it can be a precursor of illness and disease. When you continue to worry or are depressed, this will stagnate the qi, then the blood, and then is frequently accompanied by pain or tingling. Eventually over time, worry and depression will affect your digestive system and you see a broader range of physical symptoms, such as:
Here is a list of emotions and the organ which corresponds to that emotion. The chart also lists physical symptoms which may develop if the emotion persists and does not get dealt with.
What You Can Do
When our emotions start to stagnate the flow of Qi, this can lead to pain, blood stagnation, and even more serious symptoms in the organ connected to that specific emotion.
Because no one wants to be in pain, and we want to feel as well as we can, it is important to know how to process and release those different types of emotions so they won’t contribute to disease or illness. But sometimes we are unable to process our emotions. We may not know how, or there are too many different emotions to process, or our body, mind, or spirit just can’t handle. But there are things we CAN do to try and help our health. We can do Qigong exercises, breathing techniques, visualization, and meditations. These are all tools and methods to keep our Qi moving and flowing like it needs.
But what if you find you are experiencing symptoms? Or what if you are in pain? I would suggest you supplement your Qigong exercises, breathing techniques, visualization, and/or meditations with a Qigong medical treatment. Qigong medical treatments are VERY effective in getting Qi stagnation resolved, getting the Qi to move and flow, and can fill you up with vibrant Qi. This process will reduce (or eliminate) pain and take care of many symptoms which may be affecting your feeling of wellness.
Different emotions correspond with different organ systems in our body. If we don’t release and process these different emotions, they will affect the flow of Qi and blood in the body. When Qi stagnates, it can contribute to disease.
Learning how to process and deal with emotions can help keep your Qi moving and flowing. But if we are unable to process your emotions or are having symptoms, please engage in Qigong exercises, breathing techniques, meditations, and visualizations. These tools can empower you to help maintain a sense of health and wellness.
But if we find you need help, or can't get relief from your pain, or are not seeing an improvement in your symptoms, medical Qigong treatments can be another option to help you on your road to recovery or help you maintain your health.
When a person with cancer receives a Qigong treatment, the Qigong practitioner needs to make she doesn't nourish the cancer cells or the organ with cancer while the healthy organs are being nourished. Let me share an experience I had when I gave a Qigong treatment to a client with cancer.
Before I went to the clients home to give her a Qigong treatment, I did a meditation to create an energy bubble of healing energy for me to take to her home. I usually fill the energy bubble with energy from the earth and energy from the heavens, but this time, I noticed the energy was a specific type filling the bubble. I then felt the presence of a healer in my home; her name was Marissa, and she specializes in different types of energy frequencies and colors to be used in healing. She had directed the energy to be GOLD. I accepted her recommendation and filled the bubble with this golden energy from the earth.
When I got to my clients home, I released the bubble of energy and could feel it relaxing and filling her living room. Within the room was three different energies; Marissa, a nonphysical person, was there to help determine the correct energy color, an old Chinese Master was there to help identify and point out any acupoints that should be stimulated, and there was another person. This person was a specialist in CELLS and was going to evaluate the cancer cells and determine how to best help with this cancer patient.
I had my client lay on the Qigong table and did an assessment. She had blockage in her left lung, her heart, her liver, her spleen, and her kidneys were “charred.”
I then got ready to give her a treatment. I used “sword fingers” and circled clockwise under the Qigong table. This was done to create an energy vortex to absorb the gray and putrid energy I was going to remove from my client’s body and then throw away. The vortex would absorb what I threw into it and would be absorbed immediately into the earth. The earth would then process, purify, and recycle this energy.
I then started her treatment. I created spongy energy balls from my chakra crown to soak up the putrid, dark, and sometimes slimy energy. After the organ was cleansed, I would create a clear and vibrant energy ball to be placed into the organ. Marissa, whose presence was in the room, would direct the EXACT color into that ball of energy. After the ball of energy met her approval, I then placed the energy ball into the encapsulated organ. I could feel and sense the energy change in that organ.
Then the nonphysical presence I knew as the "cell expert" came forward to participate in the Qigong treatment. I observed how he was helping to fortify the healthy cells in her body. It was as if he was having the outer wall of the healthy cells become strengthened and energized so they could be protected from either cancer or chemo attacks. It was rather remarkable to “see” this change happening at the cellular level.
The Chinese Master then directed me to certain points on my clients legs, feet, and hands to help relieve some of back and abdominal pain.
I then did a “microcosmic orbit,” sending red energy up my client's spine and then having it loop over her head and change to blue energy as it moved down the front of her body. I then repeated this over and over and over again until I could feel the process smooth out and easily move on its own.
I then had my client focus on a location she loves to visit; a place where she feels the greatest peace. I then connected to that same location, and then sent this same energy down from a point located at the top of her head. I could see this peaceful and loving energy fill her lower abdomen, and then fill her chest.
The Qigong treatment was now over. It felt complete. To me, it felt like this Qigong treatment was going to have a lasting affect on her and would help her recovery. After all, her treatment included three nonphysical helpers directing her treatment.
I noticed there was a difference when I gave Qigong treatments at the acupuncture clinic vs. when I gave them at my home. I surmised this was due to the amount of time and effort I spend at home creating and nourishing the subtle energy in my home and it was more "consistent". So when I started to give medical Qigong treatments at a client’s home, I REALLY noticed how different the energy could be and how this additional variable impacted the treatment.
To rectify this and make the energy more consistent, I recently added a new procedure in my preparation process. Now, before I go to someone’s home to give him or her a medical Qigong treatment, I do a preparatory meditation. In this meditation, I create a bubble of healing energy to take with me. When I get to my clients home and I prepare for their treatment, I release this bubble of healing energy and fill their room and space where I will conduct their Qigong treatment.
The first time I initiated this, I could FEEL the different layers of energy wrapping around my body and then when I arrived at my client’s home and prepared the Qigong space, I could feel healing energy filling their room as if it were an air bad magically filling with air. The room then became filled with the healing energy; it was vibrant, clear, and exactly what I needed to help with the treatment.
I was satisfied this new process of bringing the healing energy with me would help improve the Qigong home treatments.
When I was a younger lass and began to first learn about subtle energy, my partner and I created an energy bubble of protection in our bedroom room. I remember he tried to walk out of the room and was knocked flat on the floor because he could not pierce through that energy field blocking the doorway.
This was surprising to me. I had no idea this invisible energy field could be this strong. I then tried to walk through the doorway, and I could, but my partner could not. He tried again, and once again fell flat on his face. I had the energy bubble released, and then he was able to walk through the open doorway with no problem.
We then went into another room and the energy bubble of protection was again created. Once again he could not walk through the doorway. It was as if there was an invisible brick wall blocking him. We again released the energy and he was able to walk through the doorway.
Years later I saw a similar scene in the TV series, “Star Trek the Next Generation” where an energy field was engaged and it prevented a person from passing through the doorway. It was similar to the experience we had.
This bubble of protective energy experience lay dormant in my mind until I took up Qigong. In one of our classes we learned to prepare the energy in the room by visualizing a force field of Qi protection around the room. It was easy for me to visualize this invisible layer of protection because I had experienced this first hand many years ago.
I now use this same step of creating an energy field in a room to create protection, to change the energy in the room, or to create a healing environment. It can make a difference to what happens in the room, the home, or even to what happens to me.
