Experience of a Group Healing Circle

7/10/2014

Picture
I experienced my first group healing with nonphysical beings who circled around my Qigong treatment table, helping to create a healing energy bubble for the patient, who was someone these nonphysical beings obviously loved & cared about.

So during one of my Qi Cultivation & Development classes, I thought about using this group healing circle example in our class on rituals. I asked the group if they would like to participate and experiment in a group healing ritual. They agreed, which delighted me they were open to the experience.

This is the set up for the group healing ritual we used in our class:
  1. I had the group gather around in a circle, facing inward. Each person placed their left hand on top of the shoulder of the person to their left. Everyone in the circle was now physically connected together.
  2. I was in the middle of the circle, along with the person who wanted to be treated & healed.
  3. I had everyone close their eyes and visualize grounding & connecting with the earth. All of us then visualized connecting with the heavens and the top of our head opening to a bright white energy funnel coming into the top of our head. The energy from the heavens would meet and blend with the energy from the earth. This blending was in their chest, the 4th chakra, the heart area.
  4. I then asked them to take a deep breath in, feel love & friendship, and connect with the blended energy in their chest. I asked them to exhale this energy out into the middle of the circle to create a mist of healing energy.
  5. I asked the circle to visualize the energy mist being a certain color, such as white healing light, or green healing light, or whatever color I felt the person to be healed, needed.
  6. I then directed the group healing energy into the person to be healed, directing it into their body or directly into the location which they wanted healed.
  7. The group would continue to direct healing energy, thoughts of love & friendship, into the circle. The person desiring to be healed would direct their intention & focus on the area they wanted healed.
  8. When the energy felt as if it had been absorbed, I ended the healing meditation/ritual and we would each withdraw the root from the ground and the beam of light from the heavens. We would then open our eyes and drop our arms to break the circle.
  9. The person would then leave healing circle.
We repeated this process with several different people so that everyone who wanted to participate, could. The healing ritual time was probably only about 3-4 minutes for each individual.

The following week, when the students returned to class, we discussed if anyone noticed a change in their health & wellness following this group healing. One woman commented how powerful the healing had been for her and how much more relief she had since being part of this group healing. Another reported that her back pain was now gone. Another reported an improvement in her overall health. Another One reported she was still having pain, but just not as intense.

Conclusion
The conclusion I reached from this first group healing was that since several had such a positive outcome from the experience, it is a practice that should be continued.  It can serve as another healing option, especially for those who may not be getting the results they need from other treatments they have tried.

Preparing the Qigong Treatment Space

2/11/2014

Before I give a Qigong Medical treatment, I go through some preparations to help make sure everything is ready for the client and the Qigong medical treatment.

1.        Do an Initial Cleanse of the Qigong Treatment Space
When the Qigong space was a new place for me, I energetically cleansed the area. There are different methods to cleanse an area and I have done these two options in getting my place ready for patients:
  • Used an herb (such as dried sage, mugwort, or moxa stick), then lit it, and took it around the space from corner to corner and spoke a blessing to purge and rid all the dead, lifeless, or accumulated energy from the room or space. The smoking herb is symbolic of fire, which is also symbolic of cleansing or getting rid of the old and preparing for new growth.
  • I then took some water, which is symbolic of what is needed for life or new growth, and dipped a few fingers in the water, removed my fingers, and then shook a few drops around the room. I then would speak, or silently bless the space with new vibrant energy. I would also bless the space with healing and protection energy, too.
2. Maintenance of the Qigong Treatment Space
The treatment space needs to be maintained with clean, vibrant, and healing energy, so each week I do a meditation to rid any negative energy from the environment, and then refill it with clean, vibrant, and healing energy. I visualize the room with bright white light. I do this at least weekly.

3.       Protect the Space with and Energetic Bubble
I visualize a protective coat of energy surrounding the treatment space, then the building, then the property.  This helps protect from uninvited guests from entering this healing space.

4.        Prepare Myself
Before I see a patient, I prepare myself for the patient by engaging in a brief meditation so I am open to receive input into what they need. I also want to be open to receive any prompting from unseen forces, such as their own Spiritual Guides, who can provide additional insight into their needs.

I also take a moment to ground myself to the earth so I can become a conduit to direct the life force energy to my patient. In addition, I also surround myself with an energetic force field (or energy condom) so I won’t share any of my energy and drain myself of the energy I need, and I protect myself from gathering any of my patient’s energy.

5.        Personalize the Healing Energy for the Next Client
I am currently starting to take a moment before my client arrives to have the energy in the room become more aligned with their energy. It is a way I am preparing a more personalized space and energy so it is more aligned with the client. I am finding this additional step seems to increase the ability to receive input about the client's needs during their treatment. This helps me to "see deeper" so I am better guided in their Qigong treatment.

How Can You Tell if These Tasks are Helping?
What I have come to realize, is that I am receiving feedback about these preparatory steps from almost all my clients as soon as they walk in the door. The majority will make a comment about the energy in the room and the space. I am also receiving more prompting from outside forces regarding what the client needs. For me, this has become my feedback process to know the preparations are working and adding more value for the client's Qigong healing treatment.

Using Energy Balls in a Qigong Healing Treatment

11/3/2013

Picture
Qigong energy balls are sometimes used in Qigong medical treatments. They are sometimes used as “energy sponges” to pull out stagnant energy and then discarded. They are sometimes used as a source of energy, getting infused with different color vibrations and frequencies, then directed and left in certain areas of the body where more energy is needed.

In a recent medical Qigong treatment, the patient I was treating came to Qigong by Quist due to her upper arm pain. Her medical doctor says the pain is from using a computer mouse at work.

Before her treatment, I solicited help from unseen sources to help assist and guide the treatment of this client who has not been able to get pain relief in the normal manner. Two beings showed up for this treatment; an old Chinese Master of Acupuncture, and another Being I call the “Microbiologist”. I call him this because he seems to work at a very granular energetic level of the body.

I began the assessment, her upper arm had a cold rounded tennis ball shaped energy bump right in the spot where her pain was located. I was directed by the “Microbiologist” to start by using an energy ball and placing it in her upper arm. So I took some energy from the crown above my head, and rolled this energy into a ball.

I was then directed to infuse the energy ball with the color green, along with the feelings of love. I could feel the Microbiologist place his hands on top of mine and the energy ball was filled with love. He guided my hands to the source of my patient's upper arm pain, and then together we gently “mooshed” the energy ball into her upper arm. I could see the energy as it had the consistency of silly putty, and we were filling the empty spaces in her arm with this energy. The tiny spaces within the muscles were being filled with this "energetic silly putty" of green love energy. The minute spaces in the walls of the arteries, veins, and the hollow areas of the bones were all being filled with this new healing.

I was then directed to create another energy ball, but this time infusing it with the color red. Again, this Being held and direct my hands, filling the energy ball with love, and then we gently pushed and massaged the red energy into those tiny minute spaces within the cells in her arm.

We then repeated the same process of creating another energy ball, but this time, it was infused with yellow.

At the end of this process, I could see the “Microbiologist” connect these colors inside her arm, to the energetic liver, the energetic heart, and the energetic spleen. It was was as if he was wiring and connecting these cells to a long-term energy solution.

The “Microbiologist” then stepped aside and the “Chinese Master” stepped in to help with the rest of the treatment.

I feel hopeful that by using these energy balls, my client will find some relief with her chronic pain.

What is a Qigong Medical Treatment Like?

9/24/2013

If you have never had a Qigong medical treatment, you may be wondering what a Qigong treatment is like.Let me share an example of recent treatment I gave to one of my regular clients. She comes in monthly for a Qigong treatment as a way to help her control pain. This time, she came in with extreme shoulder pain, stress headaches, and severe abdominal pain.

History and Assessment
I took a brief medical history and then had her take off her shoes and get on the Qigong treatment table. She stayed fully clothed, but I had her remove her metal jewelry. I had her lie on her back, face up. I placed a pillow under her head and also under her knees. I then put a blanket over her to keep her warm and comfortable. I asked her to relax and shut her eyes and offered silence or relaxing music because we will not be talking over the next 45 minutes and some prefer some noise rather than pure silence.

I then stepped into another room to prepare myself mentally for the Qigong treatment.

I returned to the treatment room and then grounded my client to connect her with the earth. I do this just in case my patient has an "out-of-body-experience" during the procedure. This little step helps a patient stay connected to the earth.

I then did a flat palm assessment over her body, starting at her head. My goal with this step is to sense and locate problem areas with Qi flow. I first tune into temperatures, but after that, try to "look in" and see what is going on in their body.

When I did this client's assessment I could feel LOTS of heat in her right shoulder, and also heat in the left side of her head, along with intense heat in her upper abdomen. There was also some heat in her right knee. This time, the most pronounced problem was in her upper abdomen rather than what I usually treat, which is her back and shoulder.

Treatment
I then began her Qigong medical treatment. I started with what is known as the “Bagua treatment”. With this treatment protocol, I would work on different organs, first moving and purging the stagnant Qi until the organ feels clean. I then refill the organ with fresh, vibrant Qi.

I then moved on to give my patient the “Windows of the Sky” treatment. This treatment is used to help with stress and anxiety. The protocol usually begins with the arms, but due to her shoulder and arm pain, I had to modify the treatment and begin at her head. I cradled her head while connecting with her DU16, UP10, & SI16. My client had her eyes shut, but sighed loudly and deeply as if something remarkable was happening in her. I noticed a shift in her energy, but stayed in this position cradling her head until I felt like everything was released that needed to be let go.

I then was prompted to add some of the “13 Ghost Point treatment” protocol steps, so I moved to her feet, holding her ankles and hooking on to her UB 62 acupoint. I then pulled on her legs, slightly lifting them up.  My client again sighed deeply as if something again was being release. I then released the pull. I repeated the pulling and releasing of her feet for 13 rotations, coinciding to the pulling and pushing based on her breathing in and breathing out.

I then returned to her head, but this time was prompted to go to both sides of ST9 acupoints. I held my fingers at these points and could feel internal pressure being released, almost as if it was a vent.

I then went to her right arm and took a shi zhen no-insertion needle and placed it at LI11 and then another at PC6. I then went to her left leg and placed a shi zhen no-insertion needle and placed it SP6 and ST35. These points were to help relieve her pain.

Finally, I concluded with a microsmic orbit treatment to refill her channels with vibrant energy and then wrapped her up in protective bundle of Qi to keep all this good Qi sealed in her body.

Client’s Feedback
At the end of the treatment my client shared how she could “see” a big huge piece of wood stuck in her belly, and when I was at her head, the wood image was being pulled out. She noticed how the pain in her abdomen then stopped when this wood image was gone.

She went on to say she had another piece of wood being removed from her body when I was pulling at her feet.  She reported this release helped her feel relaxed and the pain in her head then ended.

Conclusion
Qigong medical treatments include using specific treatment protocols based on the diagnosis and needs of the patient. It also includes tuning into the patient's needs and adjusting based on what the patient's energy is telling you to do.

Qigong treatments use many of the same acupoints that acupuncture uses, but with Qigong, it is a non-invasive process and there are no needles which break the skin.

Illness and pain start when Qi gets stuck and becomes stagnant. Qigong exercises, sound, and meditation are ways a person can be empowered to keep their Qi moving and to stay vibrant. But when a person needs additional help, consider using Qigong medical treatments. Qigong medical treatments are another tool which can be used to help you maintain your health and also help you get relief from pain.

Preparing Healing Qi for a Home Qigong Treatment

12/3/2012

Picture
I noticed there was a difference when I gave Qigong treatments at the acupuncture clinic vs. when I gave them at my home.  I surmised this was due to the amount of time and effort I spend at home creating and nourishing the subtle energy in my home and it was more "consistent".  So when I started to give medical Qigong treatments at a client’s home, I REALLY noticed how different the energy could be and how this additional variable impacted the treatment.

To rectify this and make the energy more consistent, I recently added a new procedure in my preparation process.  Now, before I go to someone’s home to give him or her a medical Qigong treatment, I do a preparatory meditation.  In this meditation, I create a bubble of healing energy to take with me.  When I get to my clients home and I prepare for their treatment, I release this bubble of healing energy and fill their room and space where I will conduct their Qigong treatment.

The first time I initiated this, I could FEEL the different layers of energy wrapping around my body and then when I arrived at my client’s home and prepared the Qigong space, I could feel healing energy filling their room as if it were an air bad magically filling with air.  The room then became filled with the healing energy; it was vibrant, clear, and exactly what I needed to help with the treatment.

I was satisfied this new process of bringing the healing energy with me would help improve the Qigong home treatments.

What are the Goals of Qigong?

9/28/2012

The goals of QIgong are to
  • balance and harmonize the yin (blood, body fluids, and quiescence)
  • balance and hamonize the yang (metabolic functions, Qi activity) of the body.
  • harmonize the body and mind with our environment,
  • go along with the seasonal diurnal cycles
  • avoid contaminants, physical and energetic pollution, and stress.

Healing the Earth via Energy Work

8/8/2012

Picture
Some of us believe the earth is a living thing and if this is true, then it can also mean the earth has acupoints which could be used to assist in its healing.  Anyway, that is what I pondered after first starting on my journey to learn Chinese Medicine.  As a result, I decided to try it and go to a special place in Northern California where I knew the earth energy was strong.   It was there I did a meditation with the focus of  to help with the earths healing, but also to see if my theory of earth acupoints was correct.

During the grounding process of the meditation, I typically visualize a connection from myself to the earth, such as a root sprouting from me and growing into the depths of the earth.  But during this meditation, the visual in my mind was not one of my choosing.  It was another visual that was being painted in my mind and what I saw in my mind was a huge source of clear liquid energy moving through me.  What amazed me was not only how I was not in charge of the grounding process and this visual, but also the SOUND.  It was as if a waterfall was flowing from a high mountain and all I could hear was that loud sound of pouring water.  It was very LOUD.

For me, because I hear a swooshing sound when I am at an acupoint in the human body, to hear this HUGE rushing sound during my earth healing meditation was a validation I was at an acupoint for the earth.  I stood in a standing meditation pose for a long, long time, ending the meditation when I no longer heard the sound.

This verified the earth has some types of points (or acupoints) where we can help with her healing.  Just as energy work can help heal the human the body and assist it getting into a state of wellness, energy work can also be used to help heal the earth.

Different Energy Domains and the Effect on Animal Qigong

6/18/2012

Picture
I usually do a meditation as part of my preparation to give medical Qigong treatments. This step helps me tap into the healing resources of energy so I can provide this to my clients.  So  when I was asked to give a medical Qigong treatment to a friend’s pet rabbit, I thought I should follow my same steps. So I did a preparatory meditation.

What amazed me is how I almost instantly I could feel my internal energy become compressed!  I felt like all my energy had now shrunk and was now at my ankles and no longer expanded out of my head.  This transition surprised me. I was totally unprepared for this change.

It was at this point I recalled a lecture in one of our Qigong classes about the different domains of energy and how the energy changes as you move up the triad.  The first level was the mineral energetic level and this level had a certain vibration.  Next was the plant energetic level and this layer had its own vibration.  The animal layer was next and this, too, had its own vibration.  The human level followed next with another and more complex vibration.  The spiritual field was the top layer and this had the highest vibration of all.

I now had experienced moving into the animal vibration field and I felt like I was partaking and witnessing how the vibrations were different.

What surprised me next was giving the Qigong treatment to the rabbit.  The rabbit, which is usually a very frisky animal, just sat on the couch and allowed me to move his energy.  The rabbit didn't move.  He just stayed there for many, many minutes and allowed me to move his energy and help ease his pain. I did not expect him to be so docile, but he was.

Next I treated the shy cat and it was the same experience as I had with the rabbit.  The cat just sat there and hardly moved, allowing me to move the Qi around his body. Neither animal fussed, nor ran away, nor were afraid.  They acted as if they were in a spa and getting pampered.

I believe that my meditation allowed my energy vibration to change and become compressed so it was vibrating at the animal energetic layer. This allowed the animals to relate to my energy and so they could recognize the energy, the vibration, and were not afraid.  This allowed me to give them a Qigong medical treatment to help with their healing.

The Importance of Grounding

6/17/2012

Picture
The other day I received a Qigong treatment from a fellow colleague and she forgot to ground me and connect me to the earth.  We call that step, "grounding" and it is a way of securing the person's energy field to the earth.   For many patients, not being grounded and connected to the earth may not be a problem if the step is bypassed, but for some of us, especially those who are prone to expand beyond their physical self and "leave," without initiating this precaution can lead to uncomfortable results if it is bypassed.  Which is what happened to me.

During my Qigong treatment from my colleague, I easily drifted away beyond my physical borders during her treatment.  I could feel myself floating and drifting and exploring. I also came back to my body instantly as if I was crashing back and I was being sucked back without warning.  This happened when my colleague physically touched my ankle during the treatment, which usually is no big deal, but if you are not physically in your body, it was as if it induced an alarm and I suddenly came rushing back.  I found it difficult to get my bearings back for a few seconds until I could get reoriented.

In my practice I have learned to respect the grounding process and I don't bypass it, even if my client has never had an out-of-body experience or is not prone to soul expansion.  I want them to be connected to the earth so if they have the opportunity to expand during their Qigong treatment, they may do so without fear and know they are connected and will be feel safe.

I have also noticed that with each client, the grounding process is different.  Sometimes it is as if I am moving the energy through soft butter and getting them connected to the earth.  Other times, it is like forging a connection through overgrown brush before I can connect them to the earth.  But I always do this step to make sure my clients will feel safe and secure when I work with their energy.  It is almost as if the grounding process is the handshake of respect between my energy, their energy, and with the earth's energy.

An Energy Conductor

4/20/2012

When I get ready to give a Qigong medical treatment, I first have to get myself mentally into what I call “the zone”.  I have to take a minute to ground myself, visualize a protective energy field around me, and then connect with an energy resource to tap into for the treatment.  I call this process as getting into “the zone” .

I recognize this probably sounds weird to many.  But now that I have been trained in Eastern Medicine,  this process is a standard part of the practice.  When I get into that "zone" and begin a treatment, I can actually feel the client's energy field.  I can sense where energy is stuck, where energy is missing, and what needs to be nourished and changed. I then work to make it happen when while I am in that energy field.

Sometimes I can sense beyond what is going within the client. At times I can sense what their energy is doing outside of themselves.  For example, during one of my Qigong medical treatments, an image came into my mind how this client was an electrical conductor and required being insulated with extra padding to assure the source energy she was allowing through her, could be transmitted safely. I saw a huge antenna on top of a mountain and how it helped relayed and transmitted energy to other locations.  My client was serving in a similar role, but with source and subtle unseen energy.

In that flash, I saw how this woman needed extra padding on her body to protect her from the side effects of being in this role.  She NEEDED to be fluffy and overweight. It was a job requirement. I saw all of this in a flash. I knew she should not be blamed for her extra pounds. An energy conductor required additional body fat as a form of protection.

Images and messages during a Qigong treatment are impressions that often are messages that need to be shared with a client.  Sometimes these images can help a client gain a greater understanding about what is going on and what may be affecting their emotional health as well as feeling of  wellness.
