Importance of Thought

9/21/2013

In Qigong, the importance of intention and thought is a part of every exercise and/or medical treatment. We have been taught to focus our thoughts on the intention behind the actions, and this is when the magic can happen.

We can use these same techniques of mindfulness and focus in our everyday life. For example, when holding a newborn, placing the baby to your heart and then stroking his back with the intention of relaxing him becomes a very effective method to reduce his fears and calm him to sleep.

If you add in the thought "You are loved" with each of your gentle strokes, you can notice even a deeper affect. It seems this is when pure bliss and total relaxation seems to take over for the child.

Thoughts have energy. The thoughts you have during even daily tasks and activities has value. You actual thoughts, intention, and mindfulness can change the very energy in you and in others.
