Worry Knots the Qi

7/10/2015

Your thoughts impact the flow of Qi (chi). Worry, for example, knots the Qi. Because Qi follows your thoughts, when a person worries, the Qi flows in many directions, and as such, will create circles and knots which eventually will prevent Qi from flowing smoothly, especially in the spleen, stomach, and chest.

Because blood flow follows Qi flow, symptoms from Qi going in the wrong direction will create symptoms we feel. Initially the symptoms from knotting Qi will be abdominal distention, gastric discomfort, shoulder tension, breathlessness, or chest discomfort. But if worrying becomes a persons normal thought process, then chronic abdominal diseases will result.

I recently gave a Qigong medical treatment to a client who was tired and filled with worry due to several medical problems in many of her family. My plan was to purge out any stagnant Qi and nourish all of her major organs and dantien with vibrant Qi.

Usually when I give a medical Qigong treatment, I can usually sense, as well as 'see" the stagnant Qi. This helps me know when the organ is clean of the turbid Qi and ready to receive the nourished and vibrant Qi. But with this client, I could see the turbid Qi in her stomach and pancreas was all knotted up. It was also VERY slippery. When I started to purge it and pull it out of her body, the Qi even looked dark and solid! I knew then this was a long term problem and she had been worrying about her family's health for many, many years.

I purged and threw out her knotted Qi, and each time I took out a big chunk to throw away, the knotted Qi would slip back quickly into her stomach or pancreas. It almost seemed like it was trying to hide from me and was becoming very frustrating. I asked The Old Chinese Master for assistance and he started to sing during this treatment, His soothing voice and music seemed to relax the knotted, slippery, and elusive Qi. I now could pull the knotted Qi from her body and discard it. Eventually, her stomach and pancreas were clean of the putrid Qi and could be filled with vibrant Qi.

Because the emotion of worry can often be a chronic, it can lead to major health problems. To correct these health problems, new thinking behaviors will be needed so the Qi stops biding and getting tied up in knots. Another option is more frequent Qigong treatments to help rid that knotted Qi before it becomes putrid and a haven for chronic diseases to flourish.
