Your Foundation of Health and Wellness Begins with FoodThe food you eat is a major source of how you feel. Your sense of health and wellness begins with the types of food you bring into your body. About 70% of your immunity comes from food. So if you don't feel well, or are ill, or have a chronic health problem, take a look at what you are eating and see what needs to be changed.
Food is one of your connections to your individual cells and is a subtle way of telling your body its value to you. It is also your first line of defense against disease, and as such, it is your first line of response to help your body get well. Unhealthy food will make you tired, sluggish, and may even be a contributing factor of your disease. Nutrition is about feeling well. It is the foundation and beginnings from which everything else in your life comes from. |
Nutrition
This is the course I took to change what my nutritional health. My goal was to feel better and not be tired. I took one step at a time and embraced it fully. Some of these changes took months for me to adjust to, and some I'm still making adjustments. Change is a process. I started making changes one by one and would then evaluate if it made me feel better or not. If it did, I continued with the process. This is the order I went though in my baby step-by-step process.
1. Stop Eating Prepared & Preserved Foods (No More Chemicals)
Prepared food is loaded with chemicals and empty calories. If much of your food intake is done through microwaving something from the freezer or eating fast foods, your body will be tired. You will be sluggish. You will also easily get sick. What is worse, is you will end up over-eating because your body is trying to get enough of the right fuel into its system so it triggers your mind to consume more; so you gain weight. I don't think it is your fault; the problem is you are probably eating the wrong fuel.
Make a switch to eating fresh food and prepare it yourself. In a short few weeks, you will notice how much better you feel. You will also start to notice food tastes better, too. You cholesterol, weight, and blood pressure may even slowly start to drop, all because you have changed what you are putting into your body. The best thing about this kind of change is feeling better and having more energy. It really does work.

2. Eat Organic (and no GMO)
So many of todays foods are laden with poisons and insecticides. Those poisons get in your body and overtime, will cause chronic health problems as well as allergies. Migrate over to organic foods, and if possible, non genetically modified food. You will start to notice a difference in how you feel when you make the switch to organic foods.
3. Eat more Greens
Eating more greens was a difficult change for me until I started to put my greens in a blender and drink them like a smoothie. Suddenly my body started to feel better an I was getting more vegies into my body. Some can do the same thing by eating a salad, but for me, it was easier with the smoothie approach. Whatever works for you, do it.

4. Eat Locally Grown Fruits & Vegies
Start eating what is grown around where you live. Eat the food that is in season. This will help your body align with the rhythm of the seasons. This adjustment will allow your body to rest when it needs to as well as kick into gear when it is ready.
5. No Refined Sugar
There is evidence that refined sugar acts like a drug in your body; you actually crave it. It also is linked to many health problems. Artificial sweeteners are chemicals and also not good for your body, etiher. Switch to natural honey.
